basically the girl i reblogged that from has been a massive bitch about cronus and mituna and it’s something i really ship and she’s like to the point of obnoxious fuckery and i just. she’s a fun ruiner.

Hope you don’t mind me publishing this, because I just need to get this out. (Again, I know, but I’m really sick of people being so shitty about this.) This is going to be a long one, because whenever someone brings up the MitunaxCronus deal it makes me really angry. Not because I dislike the ship, but because of just wow PEOPLE ARE DUMB. It’s like, either people are ship bashing because of the abuse, or they’re on the other side of the spectrum screaming that Cronus is justified for one reason or the other.

What Cronus did was wrong. It was terrible. It was abuse, simply stated. Bullying to the fullest extent, and on top of the starts of sexual abuse, he also manipulated Mituna into apologizing for not wanting him. I just. It made me really angry, I’m not going to lie, because it happens IRL all the time. As long as someone can recognize that it is abuse, then I fail to see where any problem lies with shipping it.

Why? BECAUSE PEOPLE CAN HAVE FETISHES AND LIKE THINGS I DON’T LIKE AND THAT’S COMPLETELY TOTALLY FINE. Some people like noncon, and as long as they can differentiate between reality and fantasy, then there is zero problem. Some people like taking out the abusive factor to ship them, because hell they’d be pretty cute then, even I’d say that. Mituna is SUPER AMAZING at trolling Cronus, and it’s hilarious. (Mituna in general is amazing, wow.)

People ship JohnKat despite John’s constant claims to not liking to lick the cock, and Stridercest despite it being incest. Where is the line between this and that? Your personal comfort zones, that’s what. Don’t like them? Tumblr savior the tags and ask the people you follow to tag their shit. If they don’t respect you enough to do it, then they’re probably not worth following.

This rant isn’t directed at you at all, or really the people I follow because I’ve unfollowed the people who are being stupid about this. I just get really worked up over this and how shitty the fandom is making this whole ordeal. (Plus, I have time to kill in class.) The fandom has twisted this shit up in too many ways, and it really is grating on my nerves how many posts of one or the other I’ve been seeing.

tl;dr don’t ship bash and recognize that yes its abuse and get over yourself

Pro-Muslim Subway Ads to Hang Near Anti-Jihad Ads

Striking back against an anti-jihad advertisement in the subways widely perceived as anti-Muslim, two religious groups – one Jewish, one Christian – are taking out subway ads of their own to urge tolerance.

Rabbis for Human Rights – North America and the group Sojourners, led by the Christian author and social-justice advocate Jim Wallis, are unveiling their campaigns on Monday. Their ads will be placed near the anti-jihad ads in the same Manhattan subway stations, leaders of both groups said and transit officials confirmed. The groups said their campaigns were coincidental.

The ad by Rabbis for Human Rights turns the language of the earlier ad, placed by a pro-Israel group, on its head. The original ad says, “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat jihad.” The ad by Rabbis for Human Rights says, “In the choice between love and hate, choose love. Help stop bigotry against our Muslim neighbors.”

“We wanted to make it clear that it is in response to the anti-Islam ad,” said Rabbi Jill Jacobs, executive director of Rabbis for Human Rights, whose members include rabbis from all streams of Judaism.

The Sojourners ad simply says, “Love your Muslim neighbors.”

Another Christian group, United Methodist Women, an affiliate of the United Methodist Church, has placed similar ads in the same 10 Manhattan stations where the anti-jihad appears. The ads, which went up on Wednesday, say, “Hate speech is not civilized. Support peace in word and deed.”

One of the Methodist group’s ads, in Times Square station, is posted right next to one of the anti-jihad ads.

There’s one part of me that’s like:

You should do your work, and then you wouldn’t be so stressed, and you would feel a great sense of accomplishment, and you’d have free time when you’re finished.

But then there’s this other part of me that’s like:

No.

They both make such good arguments.
